Hexagon will demonstrate how portable measurement, reverse engineering and more help aerospace and MRO teams inspect and validate complex parts more efficiently
Miami Beach, FL — February 2026 — Aerospace manufacturers and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organizations are under increasing pressure to inspect, validate, and reproduce complex components while managing ageing fleets, incomplete documentation, and tight delivery schedules.
These pressures are reshaping how inspection and reverse engineering work gets done. At PBExpo 2026 in Miami Beach (11–
12 March), Hexagon will show how portable metrology and reverse engineering are helping teams respond by bringing inspection and validation closer to the point of work.
As production rates rise and experienced labor becomes harder to source, inspection and reverse engineering activities are being asked to deliver results faster, with fewer handoffs and less dependency on specialized resources.
To keep pace, the most forward-looking organizations are:
“In aerospace and MRO environments, teams are increasingly asked to deliver accurate inspection results under real operational constraints,” said Cody Anderson, Key Aerospace Account Director at Hexagon. “Legacy components, undocumented geometry, and limited access to fixed inspection resources are common challenges. Portable metrology and reverse engineering enable teams to capture reliable data, reduce inspection bottlenecks, and make confident decisions directly at the point of work.”
Collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment to data-driven insights, measurement and inspection in support of quality control, vehicle standards and competitive integrity on the racetrack
Hexagon portable measuring systems used by NASCAR include:
“Partnering with NASCAR to advance measurement, inspection and analysis capabilities will support greater quality control and competitiveness across the sport while further strengthening the relationship we’ve built together,” said Bryan Balch, Regional Manager at Hexagon. “By providing measuring systems that capture accurate and reliable data, our goal is to help NASCAR continue to provide a world-class product to their fans and competitors by informing critical decisions and instilling confidence in evaluations.”
Beyond day-to-day inspection, Hexagon's advanced measurement and analysis tools will play an important role in NASCAR's evaluation of vehicles and components before and after they are on track. By helping NASCAR better understand how parts and assemblies meet specifications and perform under real-world conditions, these insights can support ongoing refinements to inspection processes, component evaluation and quality standards across the sport.
"Partnering with Hexagon strengthens our ability to ensure consistency and quality on and off the racetrack," said John Probst, NASCAR's Executive Vice President and Chief Racing Development Officer. "Their expertise in precision measurement and inspection supports how we evaluate our vehicles, validate critical components and evolve our approach for the benefit of drivers and teams at every level."
